1988 Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Bolgheri

European viticulture is grounded in traditions; and so, from the traditional Tuscan and Piedmontese varietals of Sangiovese and Nebbiolo, a wine crafted from French grapes grown on Italian soil represented a radical divergence. Created in the 1960s from vines originating in Bordeaux’s Château Lafite Rothschild estate, Sassicaia – the avant-garde “hero wine” of the Bolgheri region – brought Tuscany back into the limelight.

Characters Fine Dining is delighted to stock 16 vintages of Sassicaia, including the exquisite 1988, within our cellar collection of 316 labels and 2831 bottles.
